I got a cavity filled today, it kind of hurt. That is all.

BLIZZARD

With temperatures of -8 and the wind blowing 40 mph, winter is definitely back in Brookings. As I was running back from my girlfriends house, I dropped my new Batman movie in a snow bank. I noticed that it was gone out of my coat just as I was jogging past Medary Commons. I had to turn around and run back to the sidewalk in front of Waneta before I found it again. I then proceded to sprint/walk/almost stop because I had a side ache/freeze before I got back to Pierson. My shoes were filled with snow from jumping in 3 ft snow drifts and my eyes were a little cold from the wind. Overall, my new gloves and neck warmer worked well in the blizzard conditions so my hands and cheeks weren't really that cold. I heard that the high temperature for tomorrow is supposed to be -5.....dang.

Personal Story Video

This video was actually due a while ago but I finally got it edited today. The one disadvantage of not having a Mac.... I shot all the footage one weekend while going home. I went the high school football game, played guitar, watched t.v. and slept. It was quite a weekend. I put some really sweet music in with the video and try to add some transitions but they weren't working very well.

Final Project

First of all, I forgot my camera. I had to run back to my dorm and grab it before I could get any work done. When you only have 2 hours to do a project, something as small as this costs you valuable time. But I ended up getting some decent footage. I'm a little disappointed with my "walking scene" because it is really shaky and it didn't look that bad when I first reviewed it, but oh well. I also kind of forgot how to use FinalCut since I haven't used it in a loooong time. I'm glad that I got the movie done in the alotted amount of time and I think it turned out pretty good. I especially like the music because it really adds to the sad mood.

bad weather...round 2

Freezing rain and several inches of snow have wreaked havoc once again on the SDSU campus. I almost fell down today while walking to my dorm. Freezing rain sucks because you can never get traction, it covers everything. Scraping it off windshields takes forever and then driving your car afterwords is not advised anyway. I haven't signed up for my campus alert system yet either. The way I figure things, if school gets canceled, then someone will probably tell me.

Satriani sues Coldplay

Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani has sued Coldplay for copyright infringement over claims that their hit single, Viva La Vida, used "substantial original portions" of his song If I Could Fly from 2004, seeking damages for "any and all profits." I listened to the songs, and they do sound similiar. But like the article says, there are only so many notes in a chord progression. So what if they sound close, it's not like Coldplay was trying to steal Joe's song. If you want to talk about other songs that sound the same, listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Pretty Little Ditty" and Crazytown's "Butterfly."

Empire State building stolen?!?!

The Daily News in New York City stole the Empire State building after forging a few documents; they returned the building though. If this continues to happen, then Mt. Rushmore could be gone before we know it. Obviously some changes need to be made in New York, but who knows how easy it is in other cities throughout the U.S. I wonder if I could take the Campanile?

crisis in room 405

Tory's headset broke for the Xbox so now we can't communicate effectively on COD:5 anymore. Speaking to teammates is especially crucial in zombie mode, so we are kind of in the dark now. The headset wasn't supposed to last long, as we looked up the consumer report on it. Everyone said that it was cheaply made and would break within a couple of weeks. Well, ours lasted longer than that but I am still disappointed that it broke. I know stuff made in China is cheap, but does it neccessarily have to be so brittle?

Snow and Zombies

So it has snowed about 5 inches in 4 hours tonight. It all started with a little flurry when I came out of Larson Commons and then all of a sudden there was a bunch of fluffy snow on the ground. I can't wait to shovel snow...pause not. On a higher note, I unlocked zombie mode in Call of Duty 5 last night and it is awesome. I've played it online and in co-op mode. This new mode really adds another dimension to the game and increases the replay value as well. The mode consists of 2 to 4 people stuck in a building with endless waves of zombies attacking them. It is really fun but can get really tough during the higher levels.

Turkey break

As Thanksgiving approaches, I would like to take this time to state everything that I am thankful for; just as I did from kindergarten through 5th grade. First, I am thankful for my family. Second, for food. Third, all of my wonderful friends and girlfriend. And lastly, for college, because I have something to look forward to every fall (and when I was in high school). There are plenty more things that I am thankful for, but the list would be too long to post, so I'll leave it at the previously mentioned things.

Fans Editing Movies

Some people like certain movies so much that they actually re-edit the movie themselves. They cut out various scenes or add new ones digitally. The MPAA has shut down one of the sites where these new flicks can be found. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the idea of re-editing a movie. It would take a lot of time and money (effects programs are expensive as hell) and if it doesn't hurt anyone in the end, what's the problem? LucasArts is even in favor of these websites. If the people who made the movies don't have a problem with it, then in the words of John Lennon, "Let it be."

fun...the old way

Yesterday was a good day. Let me tell you why. First of all, I got to sleep in because it was Saturday. Second, I ate a steakhouse burger at Burger King. And last but not least, I had fun without an Xbox360. I played darts and pool at my friends house and we had a good time. My right arm is a little sore from throwing darts so long. I only lost one game all afternoon (my competition wasn't that good). I also played pool and lost because I scratched on the 8 ball. The pool table wasn't the best (almost falling apart, balls roll in u-turns) but it was a blast playing some billiards with my friends. I guess the moral of this story is that you can still have fun without buying a $200 machine.

Companies Sued For Dumb Stuff

Workers are really sticking it to the companies with this lawsuit. Does it really take that long to boot up your computer? Some computers, maybe, but mine takes about 4 minutes tops. Are you really supposed to get paid for waiting the extra 4-8 minutes a day? Like the guy said in the article, at the end of the day, can't you just leave when your computer is shutting down? And can't you do other work while it is starting up in the morning? These people are just too greedy and like to sue over anything and everything, it's starting to get rediculous.

Facebook...Good or Bad?

I read an article in the Collegian about a Facebook group that was created in order to hate on a fellow student. The student in question was gay and everyone in the group hated this person. There is also a story on TechDirt that alleges Facebook is "an important and healthy of youth communications these days." While I am an active user of Facebook, I have never seen any groups created that condone hatred of gays or lesbians but apparently they are out there. So is Facebook a good way for kids to socialize, or just another way for some kids to get bullied?

Cribs - SDSU style

This video was about my crib, aka my dorm room. There isn't much to my room, so it didn't take very long to shoot the footage. We shot the washer and dryer room right before we went outside, so that's why I have my coat on. One thing that I liked about doing this project was getting to showcase all of the cool stuff in my room such as my guitar and "premium sound system." I learned that it is hard to find cool music to go with the video if we can't use popular songs.

Call of Duty 5 continued

So it has been a week since COD5 came out and here are my stats:
Total gameplay hours online - 36 hours
Total Kills - 3561
Total Deaths - 3174
Global Ranking for Total Kills - 8286 out of roughly 750,000 online players

Needless to say, we have played this game a lot lately. My roommate and I have fun killing 10 year old kids and also getting killed in return. This game has taken up a lot of my life lately but my grades have not suffered too much. By the way, if you think my stats are high, you should see the guy who is in first in the world. There is a guy who has played 88 hours already. That is rediculous.

Jacks BBall

That time of year is here again, of course I am talking about basketball season. I attended a girls game tonight and they ended up beating the Wisconsin Badgers 64-44. This is a great victory for the women's program, who has had a lot of success since moving to Division 1. I don't know if Wisconsin is down this year but they play in the Big 10, a major conference. Now if only the men could follow suite.

Quantum of Solace

I saw the new James Bond movie entitled Quantum of Solace on Friday night and let me tell you, it was a good one. The movie starts out with an action packed car chase that eventually leads into a chase on foot. This is a great way to start a film as I was instantly awake and wondering what was going to happen next. I was a little lost because I have not seen the last film (just the ending oddly enough) but I figured key plot points out along the way. My only gripes about the movie would be the insanely long and boring intro credits and that the movie seemed a little short (1 hr 41 mins I think). Other than that, I would recommend seeing this movie. 4.5/5

Call of Duty 5

Call of Duty 5: World at War came out on November 11th, just in time for Veteran's Day. This game is based on WWII for the 4th time in the series. This game is a lot different than the last one in that there is co-op story mode and the weapons and bonuses are different. The story mode is fun to play with a friend, although it is hard to play if you have a small T.V. screen. The weapons are all historically accurate and you can even blow limbs off with the shotgun. The guns seem to shoot faster than the BETA too. The bonuses are now period accurate as you now have "recon planes" and "artillery." Tanks are also available to drive and they are very hard to bring down. Dogs are hard to kill because they run fast and jump up on you. If I had to rate this game, I woud give it a 4.5/5.

COD 5: Beta

The new Call of Duty (World at War) beta is now available for download on XboxLive and no code is required. Before, a code was needed and the only way you could get this code was to pre-order the game. Now, it is free and everyone is gladly trying the game out. At first, the game didn't seem nearly as fun as COD 4 but after awhile I started to like it. This newest installment is set in WWII and features authentic guns as well as the ability to call in dogs to attack the enemy. Tanks can be driven as well as other vehicles not yet known. If Tory ends up buying the game, I look forward to playing the co-op story mode with him.

Obama elected

So the day has come and passed and now we have an African-American president for the first time. Barack is a smooth talker but can he back up everything he says? People were never going to vote in a Republican because of what Bush "did." Obama is in a win-win situation because if he doesn't fix everything like he says he is going to, no one is going bash him. They will just say, "Well, there is no way ANYONE could fix what Bush did." So, he could possible get elected again and try to continue fixing our problems, which will never happen. Any president that is ever going to be elected will never do a good enough job in the public's opinion.

Election Day

Today is one of the most important days of 2008, it is the first Tuesday in November and today we elect a new president. I did not vote and will not do so anytime today because I think voting is a waste of time. Plenty of people go out and vote, why should I? Oh that's right, because "my vote counts." But so does everyone else's so why can't I just let them vote. At least one other person in the country is going to vote the same way I would have, so let their vote represent mine too. "I can pick who I want to lead our country," well not really, because what if my guy doesn't win? Then I have to wait another 4 years to try again. "Don't you care about who runs the government?" No not really. What am I going to do, move to Canada if I don't like our president? People need to learn how to live in the "now" time period and stop worrying so much about the future. There are enough people that do that already. The next president will not affect my life unless he makes up some random laws that throw everyone in jail and take away all of our money or something dumb like that. Otherwise I don't really care.

For Halloween I dressed up as Wooderson from "Dazed and Confused." It wasn't very hard finding these pants because they have about 20 pair at Goodwill. I got the shoes at Wal-Mart and the YMCA shirt was also from Goodwill. My sister straightened my hair, burning my ear only once. The mustache got annoying after awhile because the hair kept going in my mouth and nostrils. This would have to be one of my best costumes ever!

Halloween!!!

Today is the big day, October 31st. After switching my costume choice twice, I am finally ready to hit the town as Wooderson from Dazed and Confused. I made a second trip to Goodwill and purchased some pink pants and a white YMCA shirt. I also went to Wal-Mart and bought some brown wingtips. All in all, I spent only $29 on my costume, with $20 of that coming from my shoes. But, at least I can wear the shoes again with my dress clothes. My advice to you, check Goodwill early for the best clothing selection.

Bleeping Wierd Al

Wierd Al Yankovich has a song called "Don't Download This Song" which, I'm sure, has been downloaded millions of times to date. The song states 4 music sharing websites: Morpheus, Grokster, Limewire, and Kazaa. I have used two of these programs :) I am still trying to figure out why MTV would bleep out the names of these programs, people can just look up the lyrics online. They will definitely be wondering what words are bleeped out, so MTV is only adding to the fire by adding the bleep. I am definitely not against file sharing because, well, it's free music and who doesn't want that? MTV has turned into a joke over the last 10 years and this song only proves my point even further.

Dome Dreams

Last night was the first round of the high school football playoffs and the Lyman Raiders rolled over the Newell Irrigators 42-12. Lyman is still undefeated this season (9-0) and looking to head to the dome for only the second time in the schools history. I am a 2007 graduate of Lyman so I was a senior when this talented class of Juniors were merely Freshman. I thought they had talent at the time and they proved that to me last year and this year alike. The amazing thing about this class is that they still have one more year to win a championship if they don't do it this year. Their chances of winning this year a pretty good because of Dawson Jandreau, who rushed for 291 yards last night. He has over a 1,000 yards rushing on the season and looks to be All-State material. Our defense crushes oppenents and our offense is potent. Our next game is against Gregory, a team that we beat 53-0 earlier in the season. A victory won't come as easy this time around but I still expect us to win.

weight vest experiment

I borrowed a 20 lb weight vest from my friend yesterday so that I could hopefully build up my leg muscles a little bit. I wore the vest for an hour and realized it was a little too heavy so I took some weights out so now it only weighs 10 pounds. I can definitely feel the weight of the vest on my shoulders and back and on my legs when I walk up stairs. I hope after a couple of weeks my shoulder and back will get used to the weight so I can add more weight and reap the benefits.

Extreme Weather

Yesterday was one of the windiest days of the past few years. Driving around Brookings, I saw numerous branches in the road, monsterous piles of leaves, and even some smalls trees blown over. I don't know what is next after receiving rain, snow, and a wind storm in the last week. Perhaps a tornado or earthquake will hit next.

my birthday

Yesterday was my 20th birthday and it went well. I woke up to some eggs and toast and then I had a chocolate cake baked for me by my girlfriend. Then I just hung out the rest of the day and didn't really do anything. I ate supper at Applebees and then went and hung out with some friends afterwards before going to bed early. I have already started the countdown to my 21st birthday.

Weather

The rain this past week has put a damper on my fun time. I can't go outside without getting soaked and the farmers aren't too happy either. They can't combine their crops which hurts the economy. I wish we had a climate like Florida but without the hurricanes! Not only did it rain, but it also started snowing. I can't wait for the winter to be over and it hasn't even started yet.

what an arrest....

A Japanese woman was arrested for killing her online husbands digital "avatar."
This is so rediculous that it is funny. I can't believe this woman would get so mad that she would log on and kill this poor man's character. I have played "The Sims" and I know how long it takes to build up a character so I feel bad for this guy. He shouldn't have divorced her though.....I don't know if it was the smartest thing for her to do, because now she is facing up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. But if it made her happy than so be it.

John S. - Exam 1

I added music from freemusicplayer.com and also added an audio transition to the music. I added some text to each clip and also a background. The pictures didn't really fit anywhere in particular so I just kind of stuck them in. This video wasn't very hard to make because we have done a couple of videos similar to it.

Weight Lifting

My weight training class is halfway over and I have seen a noticeable improvement in my weight lifting capacity. I can now use more weight in every lift than at the beginning of the year. It doesn't take much for this to happen as it is mostly muscle endurance that allows for more weight to be lifted, but I am happy that I can lift more. Hopefully I can continue my workout program after the class is over.

Hunting 2008

The pheasant hunting season opened this past weekend and it was a great success for me and my fellow hunters. We went out and got our limit both days in under and hour. I shot 3 birds the first day but only 1 the second day. It wasn't because of a lack of birds, it was because of a lack of skill. It was a little windy the second day resulting in some tougher shots. I haven't shot a gun since last year's opening weekend so I was a little rusty. Oh well, we had fun and the weekend was injury free.

Movie - Hack vs Pong

This project turned out to be quite a debacle. We didn't have our video until today because we saved it wrong somehow yesterday, but in the end it all worked out. I think this video turned out pretty good with the footage we had to work with.

Narking On Bullies....

Nowadays there is a website that lets kids report bullies anonamously. Is this website really necessary? Are kids being bullied so much that they need to report it in secrecy? I was never bullied as a kid and I never did any bullying but I'm sure it happens all the time in bigger schools. Why can't they just tell their parents, who inturn, tell the correct authorities at school? I know they are worried about retalliation by the bully, but that's what the punishment is for - to make the bully not want to bully anymore kids. Obviously the punishment isn't severe enough if they keep bullying...

Dow Industrial Stock Exchange!?!?!?

The Dow was at its lowest point in 5 years last week but now it has jumped back up 936 points; a total that is more than double the previous record. Banks such as Wachovia are failing which is causing this sudden drop in the market. President Bush put $700 billion into the economy to try and fix the problem and for now it seems to be working. I don't think this problem will affect my spending or investing (which I don't do anyway) but it sure has hurt a lot of people so far. I can only hope that this economic hiccup doesn't turn into another Great Depression.

Online Gaming

The new Diablo is finally going to be coming out soon and so I would like to take a moment and reflect on all of the great times I've had while gaming online.
I started online gaming in middle school, back when I had dial-up internet service. It wasn't that fun because the internet was terribly slow. My game of choice was Diablo and then Diablo II. I played with a bunch of friends from school and we all had a good time. Then I took a break from online gaming during high school before starting back up in college with Battlefield 2. With up to 64 players in a single game, the action was always nonstop. Call of Duty 4 came out last year and that took over every dorm room on campus. My roommate just got it so we have been playing it nonstop for the last couple of weeks. When people say that MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) are dumb, they have most likely never played one. If you have never tried one, please do so. It is fun to taunt your opponents and also make friends online. MMOG's are they way of the future and online gaming is definitely here to stay.

Campus Construction

Every day I am reminded of the millions of dollars that are being put to use around me. The new Wellness Center, stairs for HPER,a brand new Avera nursing building, and another building behind Crothers are some notable projects. Every year there is more and more construction. It seems as if the construction will never get done. As soon as one project is done, another one is started immediately. While I am all-for improvements to the campus, the construction around Yeager Hall is particularly annoying because I have 3 classes there. Hopefully next year when I come back everything will be done and there won't be any new projects to worry about...

This PSA is made possible by Dr. Cecil and Right To Vote council.....or Ross,Devin, and me. This video was challenging because we didn't know what to say. It had to be something around 8 seconds long and it had to be meaningful. The other challenge was to find a suitable location. The video isn't the best as far as lighting is concerned, but the audio is decent. I was glad to see the final product turned out alright and I am looking forward to making more PSAs.

Quoting "Critics"

Disney is in trouble for citing critics from IMDB (the Internet Movie Database) in one of their advertisements for a new movie. They aren't really in trouble per say, but they are definitely turning fans away by using this tactic. I myself am a member of IMDB and in no way, shape, or form do I consider myself an experienced critic worthy of an advertisement. I think this is a cheap ploy by Disney and no one should ever see one of their movies again. That last statement was not completely true, but I do think that the public relations guys at Disney should be ashamed of themselves.

Nigerian Scammers

When one of my teachers said that her email account had been used by scammers, I could only laugh. She said that there were approximately 800 emails in her inbox and she didn't know who any of the people were. They were trying to send her money because someone had used her address for a scam. The most common scammers are Nigerians for some reason. They won't stop doing it because old people are very gullible and will send money to anyone who says they need help. That was, of course, a huge exaggeration but you get my point. One blogger named Maddox has taken things into his own hands and actually sent emails back and forth with a scammer. The whole exchange is very funny and can be found at his website. If I was ever sent an email asking for money, I would definitely do what Maddox did.

Hobo Day

Tomorrow is the all powerful Hobo Day at SDSU! Don't get Hobo "Day" confused with Hobo "Daze", "Days", or "Dazes." All of these are not the correct spelling of the annual event. Many college students party all week, making it through Hobo Day in a "Daze" I guess. The parade is tomorrow morning and hopefully I will be in attendence for the first time ever. I went to the football game last year and it was a blast. Hope to see everyone there!

Ryan Berry Interview

Ryan Berry talks a little bit about the game against NDSU. SDSU won the title by beating the Bison in Brookings. He also talks a little bit about playing in Coughlin Alumni Stadium. I learned how to put audio over a text clip and also worked with the chromakey more. I forgot how to do it but got it to work somehow. Eventually I will be able to put a movie together in no time.

VGA cable

I hooked up my girlfriends computer to her t.v. last night and learned a couple of things along the way. This isn't the first time I have used a SVGA cable but I did something that I didn't know was possible. What you may ask? I used her t.v. and laptop screens to do two things at once. I had Firefox on her t.v. and a Word document on the computer. This is a great way to get more things done at once. Beware though, if you have Facebook on one screen, your production level will drop greatly.

Record Labels Suck.....Yes They Do

The music industry is in ruins, that is no secret. What are the labels doing about it? Suing fans for downloading music "illegally." I don't know the legality of sharing music one bit. I have always thought that as long as you aren't re-selling your cd's that you could make a backup. What is wrong with sharing that backup with other people? At least some musicians care about their fans. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails is trying to figure out what his fans want by giving them a survey with an incentive. Radiohead made history when they began selling their record for whatever amount the fans wanted to pay. They could get the record for free or pay as much as they want. The music industry really needs to figure something out quick because mp3's ARE NEVER GOING AWAY AND NEITHER IS MUSIC SHARING.

plagiarism...not so easy anymore

Carlos Mencia steals jokes

With the advent of YouTube, came an easier way to prove plagiarism and copyright infringement. Carlos Mencia is accused of stealing jokes and there is (or was) a video on YouTube to prove it. Joe Rogan, the host of Fear Factor and also a comdian, proves that Mencia steals jokes and Mencia blatantly denies it. I have seen the video and there is no way that Mencia has a case for himself. He is an idiot that steals other people's jokes and has a crappy t.v. show on Comedy Central. People can't get away with things as easy now because the whole world is watching on YouTube. This is a good thing and if it isn't please tell me how it isn't....

Documentaries

I enjoy watching documentaries because they are movies with a meaning. They show a story from beginning to end and the story always has a point. I watched a documentary on two older people who were deaf for 40 years before getting cochular implants. Stories like this interest me and documentaries give you a behind the scenes look at the story, because the filmmaker pretty much lives with the people while he is filming.

Michelle

This is Michelle and she sits beside me everyday in lab. I interviewed her for an assignment to see what she wants to do with her life. I had some problems posting this video because blogger is gay, but I finally got it uploaded using the .avi format. It's hard to remember all of the steps to convert the file formats but it will get easier with time.

YouTube censors videos

If the king of a country, in this case Thailand, can't handle being made fun of then he shouldn't be king. YouTube shouldn't have to censor any videos outside of their current policy. Pretty soon George W. Bush will want all videos of him banned because of course everyone makes fun of him. YouTube is a cool website but if they are going to start giving in to the demands of a couple of people, then pretty soon they will have to accomodate everyone and the site will be pointless.

Palin's E-mail Hacked OMG!!!

Palin Gets Hacked

Apparently Sara Palin got her Yahoo account hacked by some geek and now everyone has seen pictures of her family and whatnot that were in her inbox. I don't know why anyone would want to hack a vice-presidential candidate's e-mail account, except maybe to find some dirt on that person. Palin might have conducted official state business through her personal account which, I guess, means that she was trying to hide something. Personally, I don't think she was trying to hide anything. I didn't know using your e-mail account was illegal.

This movie can be found in WindowsXP, just watch a movie on youtube on how to get it. Whoever made this movie must have spent a lot of time and for what? Self-satisfaction I guess. There is no point to this movie, but it is a fun easter egg on your computer if you have XP. I like looking up random stuff about my operating system on youtube. I don't know how people find these easter eggs but some of them are pretty cool so check them out.

Word Jumble Sentences

This was a great learning experience as I had never used FinalCut before. I am looking forward to using it again because it is easy to use. I learned how to use the video camera in the studio, mostly how to zoom in correctly and where to put a mic. Posting, editing, and compressing videos is not hard but I don't know if I can remember all of the steps after only doing it one time. I will use all of the quick keys when editing my videos next time because they speed up the editing process. I have used Windows Movie Maker and FinalCut now, and FinalCut is definitely the better program for putting together a video.

Annoying People In Class

Today as I was sitting in class, a girl asked the teacher a question. I have no problem with people asking questions, unless they are really dumb and pointless questions. She continued to have a 10 minute long conversation with the teacher about a topic that was semi-related to what the teacher was talking about. This annoys the shit out of me. I know that I sometimes talk or ask dumb questions, but never to this extent. If you want to talk to the teacher, then wait until after class and meet with him in his office.

Jacks Football

I went to the SDSU/WIU game yesterday and it was an exciting first half as the Jacks scored 24 unanswered points. I left shortly after halftime when the score was 24-6. I went over to a house to hang out with some friends and they were listening to the game on the internet. WIU had come back to within two by the end of the game, so we intently listened to the last two minutes of the game. The Jacks held off the Leathernecks to win the game, but I wouldn't have known how close the game really was unless I was able to listen to it on the internet. That's what this post is about. I am glad that radio stations put live webcasts on the internet so I can follow my favorite sports teams. I also listen to high school football on friday nights on dakotaradiogroup.com; it's the best way to keep track of my alma mater.

Windows Movie Maker....POS

I am currently trying to make a high-quality film, but Windows Movie Maker is not cooperating. When I was in the middle of editing, an error screen came up and then my computer froze. I would like to throw my computer out the window right now. My task bar dissappeared, Movie Maker is trying to restart, and nothing happens when I click the red X. I can't wait to get a Mac and FinalCut.

Flip Camera

This video was shot using my new Flip camera. It is a nice little square/rectangular camera that fits in my pocket and can record up to 60 minutes of footage. I like the fact that the video is reviewable, so I can decide whether or not I want to keep it. The only thing that is wrong with the review capability is that you can't fast-forward or rewind. I look forward to making many movies with my new piece of technology.

Music Sharing Is Not A Crime

GNR Fan Arrested

It is rediculous that this guy got arrested for sharing GNR's new album. There are literally millions of music fans that illegally download and share music every day. Why did this guy get picked out of the bunch? The media also helps fuel the piracy fire by publishing this story because now everyone knows that GNR's new album is available. Sometimes the press needs to know when to let everyone in on the secret and when to keep it to themselves. This case reminds me of Metallica's fight with Napster a couple years ago. Now, Metallica is putting their music on Napster hmm.......

I Wonder What The FCC Thinks....

I found this video after searching for Jimmy Kimmel's hilarious unnecessary censorship bit that he does on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I have never liked the FCC, but I do respect what they are trying to accomplish as an organization. They are trying to police the airwaves so that today's youth don't turn into crazy, gun-weilding lunatics who only cuss and have unprotected sex. Sometimes they try and censor media in such a way that it can actually change the intended meaning of the media. That is exactly what this video does and that is why I love it so much.

iPhone vs. Nintendo DS?? Let's Get Real Here...

Nintendo vs. iPhone

There is a new iPhone out on the market and apparently Apple wants to challenge the Nintendo DS. I have no idea what they are thinking because this would never work. I have played a Nintendo DS (Brainage 2, it's pretty fun) but I have never seen an iPhone in person. The iPhone is a lot of things, but it is not a gaming platform and never will be. Most games are not set up to be played on a touch screen system with no backup keys i.e. a d-pad and at least two buttons. As much as I want the iPhone to succeed and be a leader in technology, it should definitely stay away from trying to be a game console on top of all the other things it does.
